Thank you SO much Alison and Anthea!

Sitting very very still as I have just drunk a berry tea and also a large glass of water which I had to gulp as I couldn't stop myself. My eating is really messed up! I can no longer drink and eat together which I have been brought up doing (I know not everyone does this and I always thought it strange!).

I recall being told it is the mix of food and fluid as one eats which makes it more likely the food will come back up. It is SO tricky to withold food until 10 mins after the meal! LOLOL

This is occupying my small, mushy mind at the moment. I won't even begin to mention some of the horrendously silly things I have done and said this week, so far.

But I learnt that friendliness does NOT mean to have NO friends which is what I quite happily told my 13year old son! He looked at me astonished and said 'but you've got a degree in English!'.

LOL

Love,

Amanda

Hi Amanda,

Are you feeling better today? Can't help thinking how awful it must be for you feeling sick all the time and not being able to keep food or drink down. I hope your GP is monitoring the situation as you really don't want to end up dehydrated. Have you tried sipping Dioralyte? If one is sick, it helps to balance the electrolytes, blood sugars, minerals and salts. Now who am I telling this to, I should know better as I am sure you will have tried all your tested remedies. Did you buy yourself a set of wrists bands?

I think its hard on parent's, and know how I was with my poor Ma when I was pregnant and now wish that I had not given her such a hard time; we had different opinions and beliefs and I wanted to do it my way. However, my Ma said I had given her the greatest privilege a daughter could give to a mother as she was with me when I went into labour and witnessed the birth of her granddaughter.

love,

Barbara

Dear Amanda

I have just come in on this thread and I'm absolutely thrilled for you. I think every baby is a miracle and brings its own blessings.

I hope you feel better soon but as you say it is all in a good cause.

Lots of love Brenda

Thank you Brenda, if someone can ever enjoy being sick, then I am that person! LOLOL

Barbara - I am feeling very rough, I will write the blog later but I have keytones showing dehydration now but not severely at all, something I must tackle though goodness knows how.

Mark has been away last night and will be home SOON!! He is delighted as his boss has just handed in his notice! I know this sounds very uncharitable but he was making M's work life a misery.

Much love,

Amanda

Hi Amanda, take care with the dehydration. It creeps up on you, believe me!! I was only like this with my first, dont know why. With my second, also a boy, I felt sick lots, but was only sick twice. With both the girls I just felt sick, it wasnt all the time, just now and again, and by the time I got to around 16 weeks it was fine with all of them. It must be awful to have it all the time, I can just remember feeling so ill, and not able to do anything much until they sorted it out in the hospital with the drip. Keep up the blog!!!Smile

Dear Amanda,

Loving your blog but concerned re dehydration. I wonder if you could just drink coke at the moment to avoid going down hill? (I would hide it away from the children though!) It would not matter what you drink just to keep hydrated for a few weeks or so.

Love the thought of the family scan. How exciting will that be.

Take care,

Eleanor x

Hi amanda- it was lovely to meet you all- I wish I had had longer to chat to you and the children really!

re the sickness.

I took diarolite sachets to help me get through and I bought lots of travel sweets (you know the old fashionned ones in the tins from the garage)

I was always worse tea time and smells set me off.

Much love

Jenni

PS Pleased to see you are going for regular checks.

Hi Amande

I'm sorry that you're going through such a horrendous time at the moment, I hope you manage to keep some food down today.

I suppose the only thing that makes it bearable is that you'll have a lovely baby at the end.

Hi Amanda

It was lovely to finally meet you and your family at the weekend. Such a shame the time passed so quickly, as it does when you're having fun. Have a bad day and it seems to go on forever! Great to chat with you and swap notes! Your family are a real credit to you and you should feel so proud of them (I'm sure you do!) and as for lovely Mark, if you ever need to find a new home for him ... !! Had a chat, briefly, with Marie about clothes shopping. She looked so pretty in her skirt and top, a very elegant young lady!

Hope things are okay with you and you are managing to keep down a little food and fluids. Have you tried the 'little and often' regime, and ginger? Expect you have as you are so on top of this sort of stuff and certainly not inexperienced when it comes to pregnancy! Considering you are so 'temporarily' sick you are looking really well so that has to be a bonus! The ketones are a bit of a worry but hopefully that side of things will be settling as your body adapts to the little miracle steadily growing inside you.

Take care Amanda, speak soon,

Lyn x

PS Loving the blog, do please keep it up, it's good to feel 'involved' (or perhaps that might be just plain nosey, oops!!)!
